I'm a professional portrait photographer but don't do much in the way of studio work anymore. All that to say, as a female, I'm less interested in her peach and more interested in the face. As is the lighting on her face is dragging down the bottom half of her face aging her a little, the rest of the light is flattering though.

thats not the difference between a pro and a beginner, that's just the difference between using less and more equipment

It's all about light and the angles of models

I am trying to get a look with very harsh shadows underneath the eyebrows (but without the eyes themselves being covered with shading) and a cast shadow underneath the nose. So the light is above the head, but still a bit forward so that the eyes are still seen. NO REFLECTED LIGHT! Why is it so hard to find such photos?

Amateur photographer sets up a demo thinking sidelight is optimal for a single light setup. Why didn’t he put it on a boom at a 45 degree angle above her head… lame.

I still consider this to be average. This is not pro as there is too many shadows making her look older especially around the face

Too much shadows by the ametuer still waiting on the pro shot

So more light you got more pro you are

The natural light actually looked better. Adding more lights don’t make you a pro. Mixing RGB with flash like every other person also does not make you a pro. A pro knows when to use what tool when it’s necessary. This was lame.
