Would be cool to see the pro’s edit the shots of the beginner and show what it was truly capable of.

Really shows that it’s better to know what you’re doing then upgrade gear as you go

Jake’s Video: looks like horror
Ivan’s Video: looks like Apple event

Jake managed to tell the psycho story as intended...well done Jake.

The actor did very well with the role.

I honestly liked Ivan's version, although the colors weren't as good as Jake's but still, Ivan's felt more calming and in the end that's what the Bonsais are for

The color space error on the RED raw kind of ruined the comparison for me because the contrast levels looked so muddy and the color was all desaturated. It broke the tone. If he got that right it might have been a much closer competition. I guess it reinforces the point that expensive pro gear is not as forgiving of people who don't know every last detail of what they are working with.

I love this Beginner vs Pro series. It's in my bucket list to challenge someone pro knowing I can't match them so that they can just obliterate me and measure their distance to mine and learn and earn a ton of experience from that challenge.

Ivan’s face when Jake told him there was a key piece missing is a golden moment 😂

3:38 man was so excited to say, speeding and hear speed, then say action.

I've developed this love for cameras, filming and photography i just cant explain the feeling.

I love these Beginner vs Pro series. I would enjoy seeing one that goes deeper into sound design.

In Jake's defense, the rode micro could've been mixed slightly better. even with some EQ tweaking it could sound really decent!

As a rookie filmmaker, I totally vibed with Jake's production style— not because he's got a lot more experience, but because he rocked the directorial scene and took those bold creative leaps.

Out in the field, I make it a mission to let the creativity flow. Sure, gear and awesome editing matter big time, but let's get real—the heartbeat of a video is all about that storytelling magic.

So, here's the golden nugget I've scooped up: it ain't just about clocking hours; it's about nailing the technique and marrying it with a splash of creativity. It's about owning those visual elements and bringing the script to life.

I noticed Ivan also delved into this, but Jake is incredibly restless and thinks outside the box. So, I’m pursuing technical knowledge, and this has encouraged me to explore my wild and creative side even more.

So, I'm on this grind, soaking up the tech know-how. Jake's got me hyped to dive even deeper into the loony, creative depths.

This is so encouraging and makes me value my current tools more. So much room to grow. Love this competition also.

My favorite series is back on YouTube. As a Dslr ‘shooter’ these cheap gear videos are really helpful, encouraging and inspiring. Dreams are valid❤️

You should do an expensive camera with budget lights Vs cheap camera with expensive lights challenge.

I LOVE the dissonance that was being produced in Jake's video. The sound design was on point and well supported by the acting. Both Jake and Ivan did a great job. Ivan has a level head, and if he can keep that, it will serve him well as his career unfolds. Thanks for the video!
