TOG 2 Origins

Andrew continues to TOG series on videos with TOG-2. Building on from RBM-17 which had morphed into TOG-1, it was not the design the SVDC wanted. Instead, they wanted something different with the tracks depressed to allow for a wider fighting chamber and more space on top for a bigger turret.
To start with, however, plans were more modest and TOG-2 was presented as 300G/477G but offered little advantage over the existing A.12 Matilda.
It was rejected and sent back for redesign and new changes and work would continue to make sure it could meet the requirements of RBM-17 and still carry a big turret.
