I practically lived at my friends house because my house was so toxic and abusive. Then when we moved to a different state I was so depressed because I had nowhere else to go. PLEASE talk to kids even if they're not your own and show them kindness..

My mom was always like “sure I feel like Skyler lives here anyways” was lucky enough that my best friend lived less than a mile from me. Her mom worked nights at the hospital so my parents broke the “no sleepovers on school nights” rule and she became so regular that my parents “grounded” her by making her go home for a day or two lmao. To this day she still calls my parents mom and dad and I still call her mom my mom too haha

Every teen knows you got to wait until you both get in the car with Mom and then ask her in front of the girl, normally she won't say no she don't want to be rude 🤣🤣🤣

When I was homeless as a kid my friends mom let me sleep over for weeks. She didn’t know I was homeless though. I’m so thankful for that family

I was that friend, but also their homes were happier than mine. Don't have parents so it was nice to feel "adopted" & your best friend is your sister.

I feel so lucky to have had the parents that let my bestie stay over for weeks at a time. Looking back my best friend had a really rough home life and that's probably why she did it but at the time I thought my mom was just cool AF lol
Edit; my mom is in the hospital right now and she's gonna be so happy when I tell her I bragged on her and so many people are talking about how wonderful she is 🥰 thank you all so much

You think that's bad? In the 90's we didn't have phones so your mom would just drop you off at a random entrance and say 'be back here by 9'. You ran to get back there on time and then wait 90 minutes for her to show up
