Hey Gem, appreciate the great content. Did you end up producing a Matthews RoadRags II explainer in more detail? Purchased recently, and not seeing anything on YouTube.

Excellent channel! I'm a DoP / Lightning cameraman mixing some mid-sized works (those with a g&e truck rental) and very low cost, one-man-band works.
I'm constantly adjusting my equipment to fit these smallest jobs, and finally got a 'kit in a case' with some bicolor led mats, colorspike, dedolight heads and an assorment of grip accessories. This is a heavy pelicase, but can be carried by one person alone and tends to have a good assorment of tools.

I would love what kind of 'one man band' lightning and grip kit you'll consider ideal for these small jobs. What are your must-have grip tools?.

Jem — Love your videos, hope to make it to an in-person one of these days.

No crew setups: I’m trying to condense my gear down to one pelican and carry-on camera bag to shoot Teleprompter, b-roll, etc for short PSAs and mini-docs on my own. Right now we travel with a minimum of two people, three pelicans plus camera bag.

Could you show us what your one pelican and bag would look like? Is it possible to bring lights and stands and the works?

Thanks!

cem there is something i don't understand about color charts. why is the black field so shiny/glossy? if i use the color chart for clog exposure, isn't the gloss of the black field disturbing my cam because it reflects light?

A comment on the lighting of yourself on camera here - very dramatic but not much help in seeing the product. You just need more front light however you wish to do it. Product needs an all-around wash of light (not an accurate use of terminology, but does the idea come across?) to have a better picture of a black thing in a dark foreground. Thanks for the video though....
