Did you notice this in INSIDE OUT? Take a look at Joy. One thing that sets her apart from the rest of the emotions: She doesn’t cast a shadow. She's a literal source of light.

Joy shines brighter than the others, but only in Riley's mind. I have to rewatch, but I'm pretty sure that Sadness, in the mother, and Anger, in father, were also brighter.

Another thing unlike the other emotions that kinda like this, she has a blue aura which actually resembles sensitivity, while all the others don't have an aura. (although Sadness is very sensitive and I love that about her.)

coincidentally, joy is the only one that has hair that is a different color then the one for the emotion she represents, and her hair is blue which is the color the movie coincides with sadness. my main guess as to why this is is because having her be almost entirely yellow wouldn't look very good, yet i think that her hair color being blue might be intentional.

Not only that Joy’s hair color isn’t The same as her of emotion. Example sadness is blue with blue hair. Fear is purple with purple hair. But joy is yellow with blue hair. This is foreshadowing later in the story Joy’s acceptance of sadness in the end.

It must be because, among all the 5 emotions, she's the only one to be a positive emotion.

Fear, sadness, anger and disgust are usually Bad emotions.

I remember watching a video that shows that fire doesn't have a shadow because it's the source of light, so Joy is similar to that

Something else about joy nobody has pointed out is that shes not just yellow she has green red blue and purple mixed in her showing happiness comes from all of the other emotions!
