The movement and animation of 1.0 was top fucking notch. Was showing footage from 1.0 to some friends the other day and they're like "Woah, people move like they have weight on them! What patch is is?" And they were dumbfounded when I said it was from 2011. Goddamn Skyrim was the king of the day with its janky animations and floaty weightless feeling, and here was FFXIV 1.0, looking better than some games in 2021.

FF14 1.0 did have issues but the voice acting, graphics, sound designs and cutscenes (they are motion captured) are vast superior than what we got from a Realm Reborn. I guess that was the price we paid. I also like the old voice actor for Gaius and it sucks he got changed for the actor that plays Roose Bolton from Game of Thrones
