I have the diadem mount....it felt good to get it

A steady 5-10 mentor roulettes a day, while taking awhile, certainly kept me sane until I got the mount.
Also the challenge of, if I complain about someone in a duty, I play that job for the next mentor roulette. That also helped with the sanity, in a way.

It's always been weird to me how some of the rarest mounts are also, by far, some of the most plain and bland.

One of my favorite mounts is the Mentor...i really need to grind commedations again soon..

Some of them, , much like other MMOs, feel so detached from reality and what a person can really attain. The people who did achieve these usually talk about how draining it was mentally and physically. There are a few that I know that straight up quit after getting them because it was just that much strain.

Stuff like this is never good, and artificial scarcity is even worse.

I should have my triceratops by the end of this year or early next year.
The EW hunt mount, the bull dog, I will have it by the end of this year for sure. I started doing S ranks much earlier this time around. :)

i did question my sanity quite often with the Mentor one, luckily i got it after a year :D

Most of those are pvp, mentors, the hunt, or other special zones. and they are a grind that most people aren't willing to do.

Honestly, 9/10 times I see the mentor horse, I can't help but think that that person was probably one of the assholes that leaves duties they don't like

sorry, not gonna agree. not every1 tracked their chieves on those specific chieve sites, mainly coz u need to have ur chieve page on lodestone set to public, not private, otherwise it can't be tracked. Also, triceratops should not be that long to grind, probably only like 1-2 major patches if one's doing them diligently.
Ptera, while can't rly claim not taking too long, but it's also didn't take that long to grind. Major hurdle is miner & botany since there's not much ways to sped the process even with hi-cordials, while each DoH classes can be cleared their 500k by just macro-craft em around 9-12 hours from scratch.
