Metroid - IGN's E3 2015 Hopes

Samus has been on vacation long enough Nintendo. It's time to let her get back to those space pirates.

I would love for the Metroid series to be rebooted. I think it could benefit from a reboot and we could play through Samus' origins. Personally, I think a Metroid game with a Dead Space-like vibe to it could be cool. Not for the horror and gore aspect, but rather the isolation.

2D Metroid for 3DS while Wii U gets a 3D game. Please Nintendo make this happen.

I don't hold an allegiance to any console. But Metroid Prime was one of the best games I've ever played.

I don't think people realize there were exactly 0 Metroid games on the N64. It was 8 years between Super Metroid and Fusion/Prime.

Retro is working on something, and so is Next Level Games. Next Level was confirmed to be doing a 2.5D Metroid for the 3DS until it was cancelled so they could make Luigi's Mansion 2. I think Next Level is doing a 2.5D Metroid for the 3DS and Retro is doing a new 3D Metroid for Wii U.
