Imagine if Mario went away for 10 years and then a Mario game came out where you played as Bowser's Kids instead of the Mario Brothers, but it used the same mechanics as a Mario game. Imagine that and then you'd understand how Metroid fans feel about Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

When your game has so few mechanics that you have to list of "jumping to higher platforms" just to fill up time there's a problem.

Let's take a deeply atmospheric series based on a sci-fi horror franchise with a heavy emphasis on exploration and turn it into a chibi team shooter.

I'm just glad that this leaves space for more metroid lore. I assume these suits are built form the tech recovered from Samus suit in other M. or possibly recreated after fusion, but my bet is that this is before fusion, and after other m. probably a direct sequel

It's like if Star Fox Zero was never a game and all we got was Star Fox Guard.

It's because we have waited more than 6 years for a Metroid game and nearly 10 since Prime 3, you don't wait this long and then make a spin off. Also on Metroids 30th anniversary as well? it 's probably is a good game at it's core, but the timing of it is totally horrendous.

If it existed at the same time as a New Samus-Metroid, like two sides of a story, Samus on Wii-U/NX and federation force on 3ds and the storys corss over at points, people would probably be fine with it.

I'm personally excited for this. Although I originally had no hope for this game, it's starting to look pretty great now that they're showing what the actual main game is like.

Still waiting for the next true Metroid game starring Samus, without that silly chibi look.

Why didn't Nintendo just make this game without the Metroid name it assets? Oh yeah, they want people to buy the game by slapping a popular franchise's name onto it, especially since die hard fans have been waiting for another game for years. That's not the way you need to do this, Nintendo.

Why did you take your ONE mature ip and make it CHIBI?
Where is the exploration?
Sadly, 2009s MPTrilogy was the last real Metroid game. Guess I'll be playing that until they make a worthy successor.
