Wow, great discussion, dig your insights! One thing: you've gotta see the movie! The guy who plays Antinipoulos, Chuck McCann, fun loud New Yorker who spent 7 decades in Showbiz (!!), we met at a diner in LA in 2012 and became practically best friends; or he took me under his wing like a father, after my father! Everyone in studio City knew and loved Chuck McCann, there was a whole crew of us there at all night Crave Cafe most nights of the week til 4 am and beyond, he'd be imitating Jimmy Stewart and telling us about times at the playboy mansion, or puppeteering on his own improv show that broadcast across the East Coast in the 50s and influenced a whole generation for the better. His comedic genius was all there til the very end, I'd say, and most of all the giant heart that drew everyone from every walk. I miss him dearly and am so thankful for all the good times.

I read this book long ago. McCullers is deeply introspective. The prose is beautifully written. There's a certain bruised innocence about Mick. I think it's a must read.

I love John Singer too!
For me, Singer is up there with Billy Budd as one of my most beloved and near "perfect" Protagonists in Literature of all time.

Really great review, Noah! I thought the book a microcosm of our failures, hopes, and vulnerabilites. And to think she wrote this at 22-23.
I'm a fan of Moore's storytelling but I may skip this one and just get your take on it. Although, there is probably not a lot my 70yr eyes haven't seen. thanks for filming!

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter was a really sensitive work. It did a wonderful job of illustrating the connections between people, and yet the simultaneous divides. I enjoyed it, although I didn't feel the writing was any great shakes. Really good review tho! 🙂 (And can't wait to hear your thoughts on Lost Girls. 😂)

That cover is so beautiful. The premise sounds very dark and gloomy. I don't know if I can handle that at this point. But definitely sounds like a deep and profound work of literature. Loved how well you summarised it. 😊 That graphic book cover looks so good. Erotica and Alan Moore? Wow that sounds cwaaaazy 😁.
