I guess some people don't get that I was comparing all Hondas with automatic transmissions to the Type R when talking about manuals vs automatics, I was not saying the Type R has an automatic obviously, it only comes in a manual

I bought a new 2012 Civic EX in 2011 for the purposes of giving to my daughter when turned 16 after paying it off. After 120K miles the only problem we've had was the sunroof seal. She commutes 70 miles daily to college (she will be 19 next month) and the car is rock solid. She loves that car. She even asked me to show her how to change oil, rotate tires and replace the dingy headlights. You just can't beat a Civic.

A type r will likely hold its value very well when you go to sell it. $35k is not all that much for a new vehicle these days. You will certainly stand out.
The bad part is Cops will be watching your every move and will pull you over if you are going 75 and the Camry next to you was going 95.

Had a 2003 and still have a 2005 Honda Pilot...absolutely loved them. Perfect when the kids were young...when they grew up to 6 ft + and is like driving an easy chair now that its just me and the wife. Has required very little maint up to 120k miles (now).

Back in the 1960's when Honda first sold motorcycles in the US, the advertising slogan was "You meet the nicest people on a Honda". My first one as a kid was the Honda CT 70. Loved that little thing.

My mom has had surprisingly good luck with her 2001 Saturn SL200. 186k miles with no engine or transmission problems. It is a 4 cylinder engine automatic.

Difference between rebuilt and remanufactured: rebuilt parts only replaces parts that go out. Remanufactured parts use old case/casting and all new parts inside.
