The 90s were an incredible time for Japanese car manufacturers and the Honda / Acura were no slouch in what they did during that decade. While most people know of the NSX as Honda's flagship vehicle to take on Ferrari, there was another vehicle that I would argue that was just as good, if not better. The third generation Honda Integra Type R that Debuted in 1995 was an incredible vehicle, and when the rebadged Acura Integra Type R made its way into the United States in 1997, automotive enthusiasts were finally able to experience the 8500 rpm B18C engine in its purest form.

For those curious the Type R would have 190hp in Japan, 187 in usa, a close ratio 5-speed manual, and a helical LSD. The DC2 was also touted as a much-needed step forward in performance and handling over its GS-R relative.

I was fortunate to drive that car, not the type R but the engine from that car, it was in that Teggy. I would have loved to go through the mountains in one of those cars.

My first car was a 3000gt. I wish I held on to that car, I loved it. Bought it with a bunch of sick mods (lowered w/ coil overs, nice rims, and the best custom sound system I’ve ever had) for 7k from a guy who was down on his luck, and sold it 2 years later for 11.5k. Can only imagine what I’d get for it today, 15 years later.

Just got myself my first Integra!!!! A 1996 Cypress Green Pearl GSR 3 door barn find! Been sitting in a family friend’s shop for 5 years, just got it out two days ago. Replaced the battery, drained the old gas and replaced it with new 93 Octane, gave it an oil change and it fired right up, purring like a kitten! 😄 It’s definitely a bit beat up (185k miles will do that to a car), but for $3, 000 this thing is a dream come true. I’m going to spend this summer working and getting it as close to perfect as possible, would love to do a Spoon Type R style build but with yellow accents, Recaros, and brake calipers rather than the normal Honda red to better offset the CGP paint. I did a google search and didn’t see a whole lot of builds that were very similar, and none with the yellow accents and Recaros, so we’ll see what happens, hopefully it will work out 🤞 always gotta dream big! 😄❤

That made me remember my dad's integra, it was colored in dark green, and thats all i remember about it bc he used to have it like 5 years ago and now he owns a 2nd gen beetle which is a bit annoying .

The B series motors we’re Hondo’s best motors. Far less expensive to tune, and with the right knowledge can kick out some awesome numbers. The K- series Is cool, but I don’t know I can’t really put words on it. I just love the bee series motors.
