Its so similar .... that its practically a rebrand, just $80 less. I would have loved to see both on stock settings into how they compared, regardless, thanks for sharing.

Exactly the same performance for $100 less then I paid for my 8700K

Intel i5 10600k is the best CPU for gaming right now. However, that doesn’t mean that you must automatically replace your “old” CPU. Here is an example, i7 8700k which was/is an awesome CPU, compared to a new gen... exactly the same performance. Don’t get confused by marketing bs!

Still running my 8086K (binned 8700k) and love it. Runs rock stable clocked at 5.2Ghz on all cores with a (modest 1.37 Vcore), and i still feel zero need to upgrade. i did delid/liquid metal the chip. Chip hardly sees temps above 78*-80*, cooling it with Corsair H150i. Long live Coffee Lake! LOL

Intel is just selling the same thing with lower price

Wow. Impressive to see the i5 10600k on par with the mighty i7 8700k. And great to see that you brought Kingdom Come: Deliverance to the test bench. A great game and a cpu killer at higher settings. Didn't seem to cause these two cpus too much trouble. Try bumping the draw distance though and watch the fps tank. :) Thanks for another excellent comparison!

my 8700k is still kicking, been using it for 2 years now looks like it can still kick 3 more years against new gen i5 models.

After 2yrs, the i7-10700k will be i5-12600k with less price..

When it comes to Processors like this it is more about the GPU than the CPU. Very few games with cause a bottleneck with this grade of a CPU.

One thing, though. Not sure about the 8700k, but the 10600k is not running at stock clock here, and 5.1 is a high overclock rate which is not covered by the warrant (as in, not stock oc). So yeah, it can output the same 8700k numbers, but at what cost...

THIS is why i got the 10700k instead of 10600k. Cause before the recent build i use to have 8700k.

Although there is still not much leap from 8700k to 10700k, cause all games as of now doesn't use all 8 cores, but i got the 10700k for future proof.

To those thinking that Intel is rebranding and selling the same product, they're both 6 cores and 12 threads and have near identical clock speeds, 8th and 9th gen I5s had 6c/6th, the only reason they made them 12 threads is because of AMD, at least be thankful

buying an 8700 K in 2017-2018 was a very good idea.

Do you have a video of an overclocked 8700k against the 10900k, with the Ring/cache, RAM and cores all overclocked to the same levels on both processors?
