Putin has a ‘strong case’ to blame the West for Nord stream attack

Sky News presenter Peter Stefanovic says Russian President Putin has a ‘strong case’ for blaming the Nord stream attack on the West.

He says ‘the US has never been supportive of the Nord Stream project’ with evidence of Biden and Secretary of State Blinken both making threats to ensure the project was never completed.

Stefanovic says this ‘proxy war’ is sending the conflict in Ukraine the ‘complete opposite direction’ of ending the war.

This pipeline was almost certainly NOT destroyed by Russia - it was simply not in their interests to do so. With Nordstream in tact, Putin was able to hold a huge swathe of Europe, reliant on Russia for their gas supply, to ransom. It simply did not make any sense, either strategically or financially, for Putin to destroy Nordstream.
