Putin: Trump prosecution good for Russia because it shows “rottenness” of US

During an interview at the Eastern Economic Forum on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the prosecution of former U.S. President Donald Trump was "very good" for Russia because it showed the "rottenness" of the U.S. political system.

Trump, the front-running Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential nomination, was charged in August with scheming to undo his loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Biden, who is seeking re-election, has not addressed Trump’s proceedings.

"Everything that's happening with Trump is a politically motivated persecution of one's political rival, that's what it is,” Putin said, adding “And it's being done before the eyes of the U.S. public and the whole world. They've simply exposed their internal problems."

Claiming that the outcome of the 2024 presidential election is “unlikely” to make an impact on Russia’s relationship with the U.S., Putin accused the U.S. administration of "hammering into people's heads" that Russia is an existential adversary.

I have been following president Putin for the last 25 years, and Russia since 1989. The guy his a master of his domain, always accurate and show great leadership and patriotism for his country. If NATO EU USA and their soussou allies corrupted leaders were 30% like Putin believe the world would be a better place for everyone, mankind.
