One of the greatest T.V shows ever made . Great characters & funny as you get, mixed with alot of the realitys of the time & what a great time it was. Id say Minder was a big influence on Only Fools. You can't beat Arthur & his ways, comical the things he gets Terry to do.😂😂

2 Sarnies and 2 Light Ales, 1.60. Those were the days. The best series ever produced.

I remember watching episodes of Minder as a young kid growing up back in the day. I was perhaps too young for a show like Minder back then but still, what an iconic intro theme that show had!

RIP Dennis Waterman

These shows were written by people with experience of villainy. Tony Hoare was a getaway driver for a gang of bank robbers, but he wasn’t very successful. While he was serving time in prison, he wrote a novel and showed it to writer Alan Plater, who was giving a lecture there. Plater encouraged him to use his experiences as a “villain” for writing radio plays. Tony went on to a successful career writing for The Sweeney (1975), London’s Burning (1988) and Minder (1979). The other writer was Leon Griffiths who was in from the start but had a completely different background. RIP both.

I was there the day they shot the racing scenes for this episode - West Kent Hunt point-to-point races in April, 1980.

4:58 clock the geezer in the Wind in the Willows waistcoat. 😂😂 Also clock Lisa Goddard in the Jockey get up and silks. She even has her own whip. 16:20 She is a looker too. I realise it is only fiction but the idea of spending the night with a farting horse and sleeping in a chair. Then no hot water or breakfast in the morning really does make me appreciate the basics in life. Starting the day right can make all the difference. Of course A'fur has looked after himself well. Such a classic series.

Having had experience of rearing horses, I can vouch for their being flatulant on a heroic scale.
