The layering will only work if your image has a transparent background. png and gif both support transparency, but jpg will not. :)

Hi Quentin, Thanks for another informative tutorial. I'm running into problems viewing my image because it is saved in a separate folder (like yours initially). Despite writing out the folder name, the image does not render. I am wondering if it is because it is located inside a folder that's inside a folder? Or perhaps because I am on a Mac and using Sublime? Thoughts?

i put the picture in but in my page can see only part of the picture and there are no repeat picture across the page. I wonder if my picture was so big. are there specific rule of how big of the picture you can use in order to put it in website? thank you for upload all the video. I learnt so much from your video.

for the background image, if i wanted to resize it so it takes up the whole page, would i do that in html or would i do that in photoshop?

At first Background color with image didn't work with me and then I found the reason in my image type. png and gif both work but jpg not :)
