This video shows you this little baby cat who was brought to us by one of our rescues with a living insect in her nose. Upon further examination, Dr. Rothrock identified that it was an actual Cuterebra that had taken up residence in this poor baby’s nose, After some meds to sedate this baby kitten and some gentle care, Cuterebra was removed and kitten is doing well!
Dealing with a botfly in a cat's nose can be a delicate situation. It's crucial to seek professional veterinary assistance promptly. Trying to remove a botfly on your own may cause harm or complications. Veterinarians have the expertise and tools needed to address such issues safely, ensuring the well-being of your cat. If you suspect your cat has a botfly infestation, it's advisable to consult with a vet for proper guidance and treatment.

That has got to be the SINGLE most satisfying feeling for that kitten afterwards, able to breathe, no more pain, just the healing... Poor thing, thank you for helping that adorable kitty!

Cats really do respond to soft voices that try to reassure them they are safe. This woman is an expert in communication.

Animals understand body language and the tones of peoples voices better than most individuals. This baby kitten definitely didn’t know what the woman was saying but the kitten understood that she was comforting her.

The little mews while it was going on was absolutely heartbreaking. It must have been so painful! Poor kitty! I’m glad the little one is okay now!

Believe it or not, talking gently with a soothing voice does calm the animals down. We had a baby Chihuahua who only had a few hours to live in our home due to be crushed by a truck tire, and it was in dire pain and crying and wimpering for hours, but whenever me, my mom and my dad were talking to it, like a baby, she would calm down and just give us this look in her eyes, almost like she was saying "Thank you for everything."

I think humans also deserve this kind of pampering & love showering.

I’ve rarely seen other people do this but that specific tone of voice really seems to calm distressed animals down. If you ever a have to do something unpleasant to an animal it’s important not to laugh and speak low and sweetly at them

That woman obviously really cares for animals. You can hear it in her voice and especially when, just after the botfly comes out, she's looking the kitty in the eyes and talking to her you can see the genuine concern and care on her face.

I have so much respect for the people who do these jobs and especially those who give it their all. I would've liked to be a vet but a) I'm quite squeamish about medical stuff and b) Honestly I think seeing the abuse and neglect that people dump onto their animals would be terrible and especially c) I think if I had to euthanize beautiful cats and other animals on a regular basis that it would just damage me and I worry that it'd make me even more cynical. Even then, the opportunity to help so many animals is still incredibly tempting.

That's such a pretty kitty too. I assume she was sedated a bit? She was really well behaved, I hope she felt better afterwards and knew they were helping - it hurt to hear those pained meows.

My favorite part is how they have the kitty wrapped as if it’s a newborn human being to cute
