Most people know that desktop components will always give you better performance over their mobile counterparts. The question is, by how much? @ 3:30 speaking of desktop Batteries, we should really recommend using a UPS.
I have a Legion 5 from 2020- R7-4800H & RTX 2060. I built an AM4 PC R5-5600G & RTX 3060ti. I use a 27" 1440p Monitor with my docked Laptop, and a relatively cheap 4K Monitor from ASUS (I paid $220 for it new) I don't use 4k, I play at 1440p.
I'm a casual gamer, I really don't Over Clock or fine tune things much (except for that 4k monitor).
The only game I would prefer on the PC, DCS-Flight Simulator. Aside from that program, my games seem to run similarly.
PS- I do plan on updating that 5600g to a 5800X.

Interesting video concept!

I've been really interested in the idea of headless laptop mods (e.g. taking the screen off a laptop). Then one could use AR glasses like XReal whenever you need a screen on the go. Would look strange but would also be insanely portable and you could plug into a monitor if you need that traditional desktop experience.

Maybe a project for an older laptop.

I have the older version of this laptop and liquid metal on cpu was so bad, I think that's also problem with your model... I have replaced liquid metal and now it's staying in range of 79-87 C after hours of gaming and it's on 30 C room temperature

Watch out for those intel 13th and 14th gen cpus, specifically the high end cpus in those generations. I reckon intel are going to do some type of recall shortly... or refunds. They are constantly crashing, the cpus have some type of degradation over time.
