Art Fictions is the new twice monthly programme on CCR by artist and critical writer Jillian Knipe @jillianknipestudio

For each episode, a guest artist discusses their work through the lens of a piece of fiction of their choosing. They will explore the book's themes, context and characters as well as the author's background, which opens up and steers a rich conversation about the artist's work 🎙

@jillianknipestudio is an artist whose wider practice explores the complex fluidity of imagery through abstract painting, critical writing and the creation of @artfictionspodcast. Stretching from stories and landscape to philosophy and biology, she directs her studio research towards the connections between both historical and contemporary ideas of origins, lineage and place.

@katiepratt_artist is an abstract painter living and working in London.
She is most recognised for large paintings with heavy volumes of oil paint that combine geometric and organic detail in diagrammatic complex systems. Her work is exhibited internationally, including the John Moores Painting Prize 2020, winner of the Jerwood Painting Prize 2001 and Thermae Bath Spa Commission 2019.
