Current Starbucks barista here. Most of these hacks are pretty well known among baristas, and we support most of them so long as a customer is nice about it :). The misto as a latte replacement is a bit iffy, mostly because there is much more of a coffee flavor compared to a latte. And we unfortunately can’t do samples because of covid at the moment, but we don’t mind having people ask for samples. General rule is, as long as you’re nice to us, we will bend over backwards to help you

Just FYI, for most drinks, Short is only 10 cents cheaper than a Tall so you might as well pay the extra dime for the extra 4 ounces

Former starbucks partner, current barista. Please please please learn what's in your drunks. A caramel macchiato is not a real drink outside of Starbucks and is LITERALLY a vanilla latte with caramel drizzle. That's it. I have to explain that to people every single day who have no idea that they've been essentially drinking vanilla lattes all along.

Yes Starbucks does have the short cup but it is only in hot beverages. They do not have one for frappuccinos or iced teas.

Just so people know you can’t get a French press for the table. It was removed from the menu. I should know I’m a Starbucks barista. We can still give you a sample even though we’re in the middle of a pandemic but most places as well probably tell you no. A medicine ball tea is an actual drink but the medicine ball isn’t what it’s titled but if you come in and ask for one will know what you’re talking about. A medicine ball is a honey citrus mint tea which is made with peach tranquility and jade citrus mint and pumps of honey blend and is made with half water half steamed lemonade. But if you come in looking for two different teabags that will be considered a custom tea
