For this video we’ll be discussing a topic that's had the community buzzing—why the RTX 3060 and 4060 are topping best-seller lists, despite all the initial backlash over price and performance. It seems like everyone’s still snapping up these GPUs even though we’re paying more than ever for what used to be considered entry-level performance. We’ll look at how Nvidia has effectively redefined what 'affordable' means in the GPU market and why gamers have begrudgingly accepted this new price norm. From Amazon to Newegg to the Steam Hardware Survey, these 60-class cards are dominating, but is this really the future we want for PC gaming? Join me as we break down the reasons behind this shift and discuss what it could mean for GPU pricing in the years to come."

People forget prices used to be lower and think current gpu prices are "normal." Tell people that prices are not normal. You'll get pushback. Say it anyway.

Yeah... Sure ...."""60 class""", now is even worse cuz they are selling you x50 class GPUs at a x60 class price.

4060 is the 4050, just renamed up a tier to fool the victims.

People were busy paying over $700 for x60/Ti cards less than 2 years ago, of course $300 would seem cheap by comparison.

the fact that the same thing will happen with the 5060 is depressing
this is why im with AMD tbh, NVIDIA makes way too many scummy decisions

Nothing has really changed since the GeForce 4 MX days, the vast majority of people have and continue to buy at the ~$300 price point. Even if they sell people gimped products that at best only holds back the progress of the computer graphics user base.

Uninformed gamers give Nvidia all of their power

Why are people still buying the 4060 when the 7700xt is like $350 right now, only $50 more for a much better card

So long as AI remains lucrative, Nvidia is more than happy to scale back production on gaming GPUs to maintain high pricing. It's a win for them if they can price gpus +20% and sell 17% fewer units. Those numbers are out of my butt, but you can be sure Nvidia is now well educated on their demand curve, and have maximised profitability.

The 4060 is a 30/40 class GPU, it's not a 60 class GPU. It has a die size of 159mm^2 the rtx 3060 has a die size of 276mm^2, the 2060 454mm^2. Yes you are paying 300$ for a 30/40 class GPU.

That's what happens when people praised the gtx 1000 series to the moon when they too were selling low-end chips as mid-range and mid-range as high-end, the only difference now is that the price numbers have gone up.

4080 Super build here. I paid $1200 for a 2080ti 6 years ago… and $800 for a 1080ti 7 years ago. Still have all 3 rigs, and I never thought they were cheap. I can say it’s only worth it if you have no family or friends. 🤷🏾‍♂️I just work and come home and game. So yeah what else is there. I never paid for a Titan or 90 series card, that I’ll never do. I’ve always pushed the envelope of paying $1k. But anything more than $1.5k is even more of a joke. And a 4080 Super and 4090 will not be future proof if you want to max out games. Nvidia will make sure of that. I’m already thinking about the 6000 series. 16GB of VRAM is diabolical. Plus… the RTX Titan aged like trash with 24GB VRAM. Barely out performing the 2080ti. 🤦🏾‍♂️ GTX days are so done…
It’s been a joke since RTX. And AMD prices aren’t good either for what you get. It’s all meh

I needed a laptop thats the only reason I have an Nvidia GPU.

My kid has a 2060 and he's not missing out on anything. Thank god he's not into triple A games.

This is disgusting. The "4060Ti" is really a 4050 in disguise. Without shitty upscaling and fake frames the differences are NEGLIGIBLE to a 3060Ti. So what does that mean for the "4060"? What name should have it been called? I would say, a 4030Ti. And that's being generous. And they're asking 300 bones for that?! 😠 A 50-class should be like $115-149 at most. A 30Ti should be like $75. So people are getting what should be sold for $75 at $300. 😡 Leather Jacket Guy is laughing all the way to the bank whenever some poor sucker gets one of these. And only encouraging them to do it again in the future.

They are cutting down the other video cards so the xx90 variant looks even more powerful, and that of course comes with inflated prices too.

I just hate that when every time someone even mentions AMD, whether they are talking about GPUs or not, some NVIDIA R/T / P/T shill feels the need to remind everyone how much better NVIDIA is than AMD because of their market share when in reality without all the upscaling a lot of AMDs competing cards are beating and matching NVIDIAs cards. There is nothing wrong with buying INVIDIA because of the extra features you get and overall better software, but don't sit here with a 4070ish NVIDIA card and try to grand stand talking so much about R/T and P/T when your card can't even do it to a respectable degree. Meanwhile you're surfing on that microscopic VRAM unless you get at least a 4080 with NVIDIA. Like I said, as long as you aren't a dick about it, I don't have an issue with someone picking NVIDIA over AMD. It's purely your choice. This time around though, NVIDIA was too expensive to justify personally.

It's crazy how much mind share that Nvidia has to the point that a lot of people who are new to the PC market think that the only option is to get a Nvidia GPU and they always end up with something like a 4060 when they could have spent just a little bit more and got a way better AMD GPU like a 6700 XT.
