I don't get why everyone is so pressed about it. Yall really expected it to be a 4080 for $400 lesss? Most games you're seeing 5-10% increase. Plus, gaming isn't everything. Creative applications are gonna see a really nice boost from the extra vram. It's better than the 4070ti and it didn't go up in price, I can't complain about that.

Well on paper it should be way faster:
10% more cuda cores
10% more TMUs
20% more Rops
256bit and 33% more bandwidth
4gb more Vram helps in 4k.
It should be easily 15% and maybe little more faster than 4070ti in 4k.

But nvidia did not increase L2 cache and power limit and that pretty much cripled this card.

Also they using worst rejected crap cores from 4080 and that means big leakage. I saw in some comparing videos that 4070ti super often have higher power consuption than 4080 when both runs at same clock. Pretty mindblowing.

heard from people they are using the bottom of the barrel 103 dies and the best quality dies for the 4080 and 80 super which is why the performance is not only 10% behind the 4080. Also the downgrade in cache and tdp hurts gimps the card. They are also using the best 104 dies for the 70ti which is why its so close

i got fooled for sure thinking the move to AD103 would certainly make this closer to 4080, instead we get 3-5% increase from 4070 ti...

I upgraded to this card from an original RTX 2070 from 2018. Overpriced? Yes. Worth it? Yes I increased FPS by 120% in all games at 1440P Ultra. It allowed me to keep using my 9900k system with 32gb ram. My last card lasted 6 years. I really needed to double my vram. New games were hitting 8gb vram limits. 12gb isn't going to last the next 4 years. I feel better with 16gb.

I got my rtx4070 (non super) near launch as an “open box” model for $490USD plus taxes and I’m happy with its gaming performance in my HTPC setup and 4K OLED for chilling on the lounge gaming session for high refresh rate 1080p1440p and ~60+fps for single player titles with DLSS quality settings. It’s been a great experience and fair price and it’s gotten good use and serves it purpose well.

The issue is most of the games being released that would need a card like this are total garbage. There really isn't a need to upgrade for a lot of people. Games are usually what encourage people to upgrade. No one drops $500-$1000+ on a GPU for bragging rights unless they are crazy. Games drive the need for upgrades. The games are total trash lately. Very few of them are worth spending that kind of money on. I upgraded from a 1070 Ti in 2019 to 2070 Super, and I am still using it. I would like to upgrade but so far, I haven't had a reason to upgrade. My monitor is still 1080p and all the games I play work fine with the 2070 Super. I have had it for a little more than 4 years now. I have yet to see a game that makes me want to upgrade to a new GPU. The last game I upgraded my PC for was RDR2 and that was a new GPU in 2019 (2070 Super) and a new motherboard and CPU (AMD) in 2020.

What hype GPU is what it was meant to be! Its meant to replace RTX 4070ti not vanilla RTX 4080, that replace will be in the form of RTX 4080 Super which will bring even less progress but better price.

I just ordered one RTX 4070 TI SUPER :), for me the boost of performance in game is okay. the boost of productivity in 3d rendering software like vray worth the price, 16 Gb are future proof, the card use less watt than 4080 and is smaller .... and it's really less expensive than the 4080

My 3070 ti fe recently bit the dust. Was going to wait for this. Thought better of it and got another used 3070 ti fe. I'm glad.

I was planning on picking up the 4070ti super until it released. Like many, I will wait. I may pickup the 4080 super like others if they are available.

Haha, I have an rtx 3070ti and I am not buying this. Not with that pricing and not with stupid companies like Ubisoft saying we should get used to not owning our games. Maybe starving these companies a bit will soften their attitude,

Trouble with waiting for the 5000 series is the same thing will happen as happened to the 4090, they will be in short supply, over priced or unobtainable for a long time.

I don’t think much people care about Raytracing, but much people focus on fps=$, that’s why amd is better for your money 💰

Will the 50 series have this stupid power connector though? Otherwise, I'll be waiting on AMD to update their cards. I'll take 3 x 8 pin connectors any day over a faulty single connector that melts or if it wiggles slightly, your game crashes.

I sold my 4090 and bought a 2080ti for $250.00. Honestly happier with the 2080ti, especially since it’s a good bin. 10% behind a stock 3080 when it’s using a ~400w vbios. And $300.00 less in the used market, no brainer really. I am done with high end shit

I knew 4070 Super will be the most exiting card this gen. It is strange, that so many people really thought Nvidia will give them 4080 for $800. Have they already forgot that 4070 Ti should have been 4080 12GB?
4080 Super will also be ~5% faster than non-Super. 4090 still exists for everyone who wants much faster card.

“Failed to meet the hype” i swear we were told it was only gonna be a few percent faster but have more vram

I've been wondering about the purpose of L2 cache for GPUs. The most noticeable difference I see from RTX 3000 to 4000 is that 4000 has a lot more L2 cache. However, when comparing benchmarks between 3000 and 4000 the performance in terms of 1% lows is about the same. The VCache for CPUs helps out the 1% lows that doesn't seem to be the case for GPUs. I suspect that more L2 cache only helps out with power efficiency.
