My dad worked downtown when I was little. Since he owned his own business, I stayed in his office when school was out for the summer. Every morning we would meet a homeless family who had a daughter my age at the restaurant downstairs and they would eat breakfast with us. That is God. I didn't even realize it was unusual until I grew up... Your kids see what you do and learn from it.

Once my son and his dad and I were coming back from Boston and we pulled into a gas station in Albany NY. A man dressed in grungy clothes approached our car and said he was hungry. I had no money but I had a doggie bag from my sister with great ribs in it so I gave him the ribs. He went over and crouched down and leaned against a brick building and devoured those ribs. I've never seen anyone devour anything like that. My son was about 7 years old and he started to cry and said "that was the nicest thing I've ever seen anyone do." Generosity affects people.
