Aliexpress:
Takes out motherboard from iPhone 12, put random stuff, then sell it

Just to be clear Ali Express is actually quite good with returns and refunds. I've gotten many from them for bad products, but in this case I had this board for a while before checking it out

Ali express doing a whole NAND swap is very strange

Step1: Remove the messed up motherboard
Step2: Place in a messed up motherboard

I buy these all the time from AliExpress. Swap them out on a locked phone then sell them. Haven’t had a problem yet. Given, the latest model I’ve purchased/installed was an iPhone XR. Thanks for the uploads PRG!

People don't realize you gotta check the reviews when buying from AliExpress 😭
If you're buying from a seller with 0 reviews and 2 purchases then of course you're getting scammed ( a nand swap is crazy though 😭😭😭 )

You have to buy one from one with a lot of reviews. Not the cheapest one you find. I’ve bought like 30+ and they were all perfectly working with Face ID

Didn’t even come with the Face ID sensors, no chance of it being fully working

I had a similar problem but with my iPhone 12 Pro, bought another logic board from Alibaba and by the look of the comments I was lucky to get a functioning board

NAND swap? You’ll need to restore it as it’s in dfu mode

I wonder if the aliexpress board would work if you restore it with AC2. On the 12 series you don't need to reprogram the nand with the old info, so using apple configurator 2 to restore may work. Still wouldn't sell it in that state but would be cool to see if it works at all

I once orded a iphone 4s logic board on Ali express to fininshing a build project. And under the heat shields they put a load of Hot Glue so you cannot see the inside’s. When i connected everything it just started up and it was doing fine, fully unlocked. Only thing is, if you hit the home button, there is a weird delay in the screen light. And sometimes a weird little flash, the lcd is fine… so its the Chip.

It works still till this day if you want… but i dont recommend it. I know for sure if you use it daily, it would break in 1 month. They just sell you a logic board that is barely hanging on lol.

It's a donor board, I'm sometimes buy it for my boss.
Usually they don't come with NAND and CPU chips, they used to be a CNC'ed or something like that so you can put yours to the donor board

AliExpress in regards to tech is only good for certain things like PC CPUs, hubs and older motherboards, but phone repair parts I never knew you could get and now I know never to get lmao
