Taiwan isn't as big of an issue as you've been lead to believe. William Lai will become Taiwan's next leader but only 29% of registered Taiwanese voters voted for him in the recent election. His party, the DPP actually lost control of the Taiwanese legislature and will effectively be in a stalemate moving forward. In reality, not much is going to change between China and Taiwan these next 4 years, unless the US wants to escalate tensions and push Taiwan towards independence.

Mainland China is quite possibly the only one in the world that truly cares for the people of Taiwan. The US certain doesn't, they're only using the island as a chess piece (their so-called unsinkable aircraft carrier) in their bid to contain the mainland's rise. Most mainlanders consider the people of Taiwan as part of the family. A feeling that's sadly not reciprocated by some people living in Taiwan.

Remember Taiwan Island belongs to 1.4 billion people, not just handful of them. That island going nowhere and you can't take it away or moving it, but that doesn't mean people of Taiwan can't move. If you don't like Taiwan to be part of China, just move to U.S or the west, let's see how much welcome you get as immigrants in the west. The faster people of Taiwan understand that, the better would it be for everyone.

Our government officials are friends with landlords and big business and does not care about the little people, even though it is they who contributed to the majority of the taxes. My friend owns a restaurant and when the landlord raises the rent by 50% this year he had to close down the business. Our economy isn't booming, the landlord just got greedy because the pandemic is over and there's no law to stop him.

The speaker cannot be more true. Taiwan's survival depends on mainland China because of preferential trade given by mainland China to Taiwan. Taiwan people are politicalised and weaponised by the west, us and dpp against China. Taiwan is being used by US and its allies. Like how they use Xinjiang, Hong Kong, Tibet to break up China. Advice to independent forces is to move to tge US and the west but look what happen to the HK immigrants to UK under British foreign passport rule. Also look at Ukraine. Only China will Taiwan like family not the western powers and US. Remember what the west have done to China in the hundred years of humiliation. Remember blood runs deeper than water. Reconciliation with mainland is the only solution nit buying western weapons or ganging with with the west against Chuna.

Now China is on the verge to become the 1st country in the world, there is no reason Taiwanese people see China as a threat. The reunification can only make them both stronger, this is the truth that the US are scared.
The 2nd truth is, when you become 2nd, that does not mean you become poorer. That only mean someone is doing better. The good news is that you have now someone of the same level as you who can help you to solve some issues you can't tackle alone. For instance homelessness, modernizing your railway infrastructure, improve your transport system and more...
