"Have media, will lie for money." Rupert's business card.

UK newspapers should have a compulsory warning on the front page like cigarettes do.

What have they NOT lied about, that would be a short list.

The Murdoch press lied?!😯 I'm stunned.

Not “convicted” just a complaint upheld by the regulator, and Times told to issue a correction to story. Embarrassing for the paper anyway.

The " Lying Times" will retract, and then get right back to buisness.

Social media are even worse. Saw an ‘article’ on Faceplant today which claims that BMW are abandoning EV’s and turning to Hydrogen Fuel Cells. If it’s true, I wish them all the luck in the world, because boy are they going to need it.

The Times [UK] is not a newspaper of record any more. It is just the gutter press dressed in a posh frock.

Same with our Daily Telegraph. The tabloids are all terrible, but fortunately the sales of printed newspapers have declined significantly year on year for the last two decades at least.

My late grand father used to say, "Believe nothing you hear and only half you you read and you might have a quarter of the ruth."

He fought in the 1914-18 War, so cynicism is not a new thing!

Best wishes from George

You are wrong about the times : it WAS a broad sheet paper, highly respected with some of the best journalists. It is now just a tabloid and full of absolute rubbish.

Newspapers definitely push their own biases

This is a UK phenomenon.
It is an increase in EV, a being pre-registered by OEM, a
Not in sales reported.
Any UK auto dealer will evidence that the auto market is in serious trouble in the UK

I live in the UK and in the last year I've been surprised by how many EVs I see daily.

There is no doubt numbers are increasing significantly.

I work in the UK car industry, selling EVs. The market is very very difficult, despite what any figures say. The UK population is NOT buying EVs easily. All EVs are sold on lease terms and the leasing companies have been taking heavy losses from terrible EV residuals. These are facts. The main problem is the government’s ZEV mandate which forces EV sales above demand without any real incentives for the private buyer. So residual values collapse. All manufacturers are having to support EV sales with huge discounts which are not sustainable. This is because of the ZEV mandate. 20% is easy to do? No, it isn’t. Any approach that forces supply instead of incentivises demand will not be very effective. The UK’s issue is not media. Media has been way behind what is really happening at every step of the way. The issue is that it is far more expensive to own an EV than a petrol car because of terrible residuals. This arises because sales are being forced above demand without any thought as to incentivising the used market. The brick wall is coming quickly into view.

It's so pathetic and desperate. Just like when Biden announced to the world that GM is the leading EV manufacturer and Tesla wasn't even invited to the event. Hilariously Pathetic. 😅

James Murdoch, with strong Fox Media ties, is on the Tesla board. Given the WSJ hit pieces on Elon Musk that have been repeatedly run, one might consider some of the motivation to be personal antipathy, either with Elon or within the Murdoch family. It is also true that Fox News is a big proponent of "drill baby drill" but personal animosities may well be involved.
