It’s not drinking being the issue.
It’s being drunk.

"What do you do if you meet a 'sipping saint'?" Well what you're *supposed* to do is take the log out of your own eye before you worry about the speck in your brother's eye. But it's hard to look down to read the pages of the Bible when your nose is firmly pointed up in the air.

My guy said that like it was a mic drop.

Right! Many Christian’s don’t understand that drinking alcohol is not the same as getting drunk. I understand that once you drink one ounce of alcohol, it could lead to addiction. But it’s not always the case. Isaiah Saldivar made a video about this and I commented that drinking alcohol isn’t a sin, getting drunk is. I got hate from it and one fool said that “that’s what a regular drinker says”. I’ve never drunken a day in my life!

I think this comes down to convictions. I would not drink 1. I saw alcohol ruin my family and 2. I have no desire for it.
I do believe that many ppl have the tendency to over do their consumption and its usually better to not tread that line. That's a conviction I have.

It’s funny how he mentions no drinks in the temple… Yet it’s also the laws of the temple that say “fill the temple with smoke”. So what? Am I supposed to smoke and fill my body with smoke?

The whole point of a great number of the Temple laws were risk management. Wine can make someone drunk, and thus banning it from the Temple would eliminate a variety of risks from occurring in the temple. I mean could you imagine if a priest drank just a drop too much and then had to sacrifice a paschal lamb? the potential for disaster is obvious.

I generally don't drink alcohol, but I'm not going to make a federal case out of Christiains who do drink, just as long as the drink doesn't master them. Paul told Timothy to drink a little wine to deal with his stomach problems.

The type to pay a homeless guy to go into a liquor store and buy a case of beer for them because they don’t want anyone to know they are drinking beer to relieve their kidney stones. (True story)

Drinking acohol is perfectly fine biblically, it's drunkenness that is taught against.
Alcohol is a gift from God, use it wisely. 🙏

We're homeschooled and my little sister was watching the Bible lesson and it said they drank grape juice at the last supper.

And you can say alcohol is vaguely permissible but drunkenness is clearly forbidden.

There’s also a few passages that say things along the lines of “only a fool drinks to drunkenness” or “nothing ruins a good man quicker than alcohol”. You can pick and choose whichever sentiment you want.

I’m glad you clarified it’s usage of the terms for wine, I was about to mention some of that (probably less).

I agree with your stance on alcohol. Where you fall short is drinking on camera knowing it will offend some of your fellow brothers and sisters. Regardless of how ridiculous being so strict on alcohol is. Take heed to Paul’s admonition in 1 Cor. 8. Don’t let your liberty be a stumbling block for other believers.

I've had this conversation before and I always say, it's not drinking that is the sin, it's drinking for the purpose of getting drunk that is the sin.

Do not drink the wine that has turned over (fermented). Pretty clear language.

They called all juice wine in those days.

I love your loving and careful tone when addressing people who are just wrong, but not malicious.
And then you give a little ridicule to the people who are being ridiculous.
Awesome job!
