Its all about not letting anything get grip of you, regardless of drinking, money and sex. In the right context maybe. I don’t think it’s as black and white as described in the clip. For instance Paul encourages us to get filled by the spirit instead of getting drunk. A consequence of alcohol is losing control. Better to draw near God than risking turning away from God.

When you let go of fear and shame you don't need to drink alcohol because you can be your authentic self around others.

The Bible talks about being of a sober mind. When you’re drinking you’re not in a sober mind. Why not just err on the side of caution and not drink any at all? You’re trusting in yourself to not get drunk when you should just be trusting in God and not drink at all.

I find it interesting in 1 Corinthians 11 that Paul is upset and rebukes members of the Church are not sharing food and wine rather than that some of them are drunk. He even say's you have homes to eat and drink in implying that it is okay.

Let scripture decide. It says yes. We CAN. But we do not have too. We cannot be controlled by it. We cannot be drunk. But we can drink. We also should not and cannot judge others if they do.

Even jesus and the desciples drank wine, not grape syrup. So if I drink wine or any alcohol beverages in certain portion that I dont get drunk from it, that'll be fine just as jesus and the desciples drank wine and didnt get drunk.

I don’t drink at all so no dog in the race but I feel the Lord couldn’t have despised alcohol all together or he wouldn’t have turned the water into wine for the wedding guest.
