I love this. This is a high standard for ease of repair, and even if the mainstream headphone manufacturers don't make it this easy, at least they could make it more possible to repair while still retaining a larger battery.

If only these Fairbuds weren't just sold in the EU

These actually look really nice, and I love how repairable they are. Thing is that I’m a bit of a stickler for sound quality, so they have to at least be decent in that department for them to be a nice buy.

As someone somewhat versed in this kind of engineering I'm aware how hard it can be to design compact electronics to be able to be easily disassembled and repaired and I'm always impressed by the engineers who can make it work. They are extremely talented and uses their talent for good.

It looks decent except the skimped on the maybe $2 on the BOM for brass inserts for the screws. Threading into plastic is a great way to repair maybe once or twice before you have to buy a new pair.

You really should have a pair of soft jaw pliers in your kit for things like pulling that button out without damaging it.

I think one way they could maje it better is use the universal stretch over type for the ear cushions, when they use those clips it limits where you can get replacement parts from abd ear cushions are normally one of the first things to go.

Soldering is still a lot more reasonable an ask than figuring out how to break component pairing. Bravo.

This level of repairability should be the industry standard. Almost anyone could fix messed up parts on this with minimal knowledge.

I just got one of these a few weeks ago.
I'll add that :

The sound seems great, though I'm no ultra audiophile.

The noise cancelling very good - say between an XM3 and XM4, (Both of which I've had more than one of, and had to junk because they physically failed on me)

Comfort very good,

Battery life better than the Sonys,

And the robustness is great... Feels much more solid.

Delighted.

It's wonderful when products are actually meant to be serviced when they are designed with the intent to last a long time and to be serviceable for the lifespan of not just the device but the customer's lifespan. Products designed to last a lifetime should be the gold standard for all manufacturers.
