Did you seriously say there's no motion clarity advantages over a good 1440p ips panel and bring up the 32gq950? Dude, the panel is 40x faster in pixel response time than the majority of ips panels. Even blur busters said the only thing clearee than it in motion was a 360hz TN panel that strobes.

I have this monitor and I love the matte finish. It’s perfect for my apartment setup where light is coming behind me

Got this monitor on sale when it was just under $700 and have been loving every minute with it. Use it exclusively for PS5 and a bit of PC but mainly for competitive FPS and it's a game-changer. It's my first OLED so can't really compare it to anything else but wow man didn't know a 2K OLED would look sharper than a 4K LED TV.

Did you turn off the power saving auto dimming in the power settings? It was super dim for me until I turned that setting off

Turning off power saving mode in the settings makes it brighter, should solve that dimness issue.

I'm snagging this monitor to see what's up. Not sure it's the best decision after watching this review, but I think I'll enjoy it. Waiting for a better OLED implementation isn't going to happen for a long while, and the higher resolution, the dimmer the display will be. If the matte finish makes the screen unbearable and I can't return it (worst-case scenario). I'll DIY remove the matte finish from the monitor myself.

Update:
This monitor is stunning. I don’t have many lights near it except for the light from the bathroom. But even then the image is sharp and clear. It feels like I’m looking at a larger version of my Samsung phone display. Rich colors. Well worth the money. The buttery smooth motion makes it just that much more satisfying.

90% of people with the monitor including myself think it’s bright enough I do appreciate the other side of the coin but I would recommend playing in vivid mode with auto hdr and in game hdr on at all time it looks beautiful but I’m not gona lie bro you gota that whole super bright ass minimal set up which I hate

the matte finish is a nonstarter. if dough (eve) didn't have such terrible track record I'd get their implementation of this panel instead just for the glossy finish

I know you bought it and everything…. but if you don’t think it’s greatest and don’t plan on returning it. I would absolutely love seeing a video of you removing the matte finish on the monitor.

I am glad you are clear about the matte coating, I hope some oled monitors come out with glossy

So I have this monitor now and I was nervous based on your review. Just make sure you disable the Smart Energy Mode and its totally ok on brightness. I had it enabled and its totally unusable until this feature is turned off. The speed and response time outweigh the brightness issue(for me at least). I am loving it for FPS games and content looks great too!

I think they don’t make these monitors with a glossy finish is because they don’t want their monitors competing with their OLED tv’s

weird, my 27gr95qe was actually too bright for me even with all the lights on, I actually reduced it to 75 brightness! HDR is almost blinding bright for me sometimes.

He's right. I just got this monitor in. Brightness levels are really low. White backgrounds do not have good clarity due to the anti-glare coating. Color fringing is a problem but can be fixed with Better ClearText software which can be downloaded. Gaming on this monitor is good. Really responsive. As he explained. Gaming on it is almost telepathic-like. Feels like an extension of your body. Is it $1000 worth? No. More like $700-800

You're tripping if you think you're not going to notice the difference from OLED to ips in image clarity. Went from 240hz ips 1440p to 165hz oled 1440p and the pixel response is noticeable right away. OLED at default is on par with ips with ulmb enabled easily.

The frigging he is referring to you won't even notice unless you really look for it. The brightness is perfectly fine if you turn off the power engery saver setting. I haven't tried this yet in light situation, but in dark to semi dark, you won't even notice there is a matte finish or brightness is low. Actually, it is more of a glossy matte finish and also at time I have to lower the brightness by 5 to 10 percent. I feel like every reviewer trying to be the first doesn't even look or understand the complete feature of this panel.

Finally someone honest about OLED burn-in.
It's not a matter of "if" an OLED will burn in, it's a matter of "when" it will happen, even though some people claim otherwise.

Regarding OLED burn-in, it's not really a concern if you reserve the OLED display for movies/games and avoid any sort of productivity work on it.

That doesn't mean that burn-in is prevented, rather that it's massively slowed down and when it does happen, it'll have taken such a long time that you might have already upgraded to something newer.

At the end of the day, I bought my OLED TV to enjoy it, not to preserve it for a possible next owner. It is not an investment. It started losing value the moment I cut open the tape on the box. In ten years, whether it has burn-in or not, it'll be worth almost nothing just because of its age. I don't stress myself out with precautions (apart from not using it as a productivity monitor). I just sit back and enjoy the experience.

Huge let down. Hopefully other manufacturers are taking notes and will produce a glossy 240hz OLED with a heatsink for better brightness capability.
