LG 27GR95QE…not bright 😶‍🌫️

What’s up guys! It’s Christian Allen and in todays video I turn off HDR while using LG’s oled monitor and it does seem a little brighter… but the colors just don’t pop anymore. I’m a PS5 gamer, it should be different on a gaming computer. Any way, hope this gives you a better idea of how you can make this brighter.

Seems like the worst possible room for an OLED. Lol. Close your damn blinds man.

HDR is not supposed to be bright across the entire screen. Only highlights. People don't understand how HDR works.

You’re gonna have to close those blinds. Your windows are shining right next to the display. To get the most from OLED, you need it to be as dark as possible in the room. (Also lose that light bar).
If you’re going to be using it in that scenario where it’s mostly bright, you might as well return it and go back to a brighter IPS display.

1 turn off power saving
2 calibrate your Hdr
3 put Hdr as only when supported
4 increase your brightness

idk man I freaking am in live with mine. No it's not the brightest display ever but the depth of color and crispy image is unmatched. Playing this on COD ultra with 240 hz is amazing. I also have a 4090 to be able to do that but ya, I love it

I bought the monitor about 2 weeks ago from LG for €630. The BEST monitor I've ever had. Everyone is focusing on the "too low" brightness, which I can't understand. It is & remains the best monitor currently!

Bro is blasting his screen with sunlight and complaining about the brightness.

It’s bright enough and it looks better than your light bleeding everywhere led panels with horrible blacks. What is true is that not all hdr content looks good, however SDR looks amazing and it doesn’t give you eye strain. I had the 42” LG C2 and returned it because it’s too big for a monitor and even if you lower the lights and all that it’s not safe for your eyes because it’s not designed to be watched so close.

Hdr settings require calibration, you need to set them up properly in the system settings, theres also momitor settings you need to tweak to get the best out of the monitor

This is what an infinite contrast ratio does, it makes the blacks black. I feel as though the black implementations in most games very much tread on the darker side, not being optimized for OLED. It's hard to make good use of an infinite contrast ratio when most monitors don't even have that yet and therefore most games aren't even made with that in mind.

You need to change it to gamer 2 setting. I did it and made it so much brighter. This monitor is worth every penny

I agree with this 💯%. It is extremely dim on light displays. Open up chrome browser and go to any web page with white background. It is very very dim.. like your brightness got nerfed to 50%. But any white text on black background gets buffed to max brightness. And this is on HDR. If you turn off HDR you only get half the brightness

Turn down your lights 😂. When it comes to speed and color. It is 👌

Gotta turn off power savings and give it a few days. I was so close to returning it and absolutely love it now

Excellent monitor with a pixel response time that will ruin other monitors for you once you see this one. However it is very dim no matter what you do. You can get used to it and I suppose it may be a little easier on the panel and your eyes, but definitely wish you had the ability to turn the brightness up.

Just calibrate it in settings and if you want monitor as bright as sun, you should chose QLED than OLED

Nobody has a problem with the lg c1 and c2 tv brightness but as soon as its on a 27inch display people get pedantic
