Alien Tech Signature found? - Prof Simon

in 2022 breakthrough listen published a report saying the signal was so weak, it might be human radio interference. I interviewed Dr Andrew Simmion, Principal Investigator at Breakthrough Listen, this year. He told me, 'we are still listening and studying BLC1' ,

Data now shows the signal is 'Doppler Shifted' during observation, by the movable dish radio telescope, Parkes Australia. This probably means, the source is rotating, such as a planet. Helping to eliminate the possibility, it is just human radio interference.

The date of confirmation will probably NOT be in a few weeks. As said in the newspapers. Confirmation will come after the signal can be further analysed.

So, we’ve go genuine scientists, doing genuine science with due diligence.
When they have enough data, they’ll publish.
Not flashy or spectacular (unless proven true) but is the kind of hard work we need with unsung scientists and technicians putting in the required care and work to place another thread on the path to finding intelligent life. Another enjoyable video. On the subject of education and degrees, I have a story. I worked in motion picture sound engineering for most of my career. Twenty eight years to be exact. And I worked during that time for two extremely well known motion picture companies. Upon the retirement of the owner of the last one I was working for, we had a dinner with the entire staff which of course included the engineering department. We were all pretty close having worked so many years together and all ended up sitting at the same table. Somewhere during the evening conversation a fellow engineer innocently asked me in front of everyone where I got my degrees. I said “ I don’t have any degrees”. The table was silent with looks of disbelief. The fact is that I went to an accredited sound engineering school that did not offer degrees and instead offered certificates of proficiency in Audio engineering. I never went to college, junior college and barely attended high school. They had all assumed I was highly educated. No, I was smart and knew what I was doing. You don’t need to sit with other students in a classroom to be smart and many not so bright people have degrees!

When i googled BLC1.. there is a huge amount of articles from 2021-2022 saying its interesting, but not an alien So its interesting that they are still very interested 3 years later. 😮

The European method of searching for ET seems more likely to turn up a signal than the North America approach. The former is searching for regular "ambient" techno noise from a civilization going about its business of existing. The latter is searching for ET trying to communicate directly. I think this is highly unlikely. Are we sending out regular, steady and powerful welcome signals to announce we're here? Nope. We listen, but we don't broadcast. I also concur with the late Stephen Hawking that it really is not a good idea to actively announce we're here. If the techno-signal is confirmed, it will be quite interesting what we decide to do next.
