Scientists Just Spotted 7 Stars That Show Signs of Hosting Advanced Alien Civilisations

A team of scientists from Sweden, India, the UK, and the USA has led to the development of a method for detecting technosignatures associated with Dyson Spheres.

This initiative named Project Hephaistos, after the Greek god of fire and metallurgy, aims to identify potential Dyson Sphere constructions by advanced civilizations.

In their study, the scientists detail a thorough investigation into partial Dyson spheres using data from GAIA, 2MASS, and WISE, which are extensive astronomical surveys serving various purposes.

The analysis involved a vast amount of data from individual stars, with approximately 5 million sources examined in this particular paper to construct a catalog of potential Dyson spheres.

But sorting through such a vast amount of data is a daunting task, and so the research team devised a specialized data pipeline for this purpose, capable of processing the combined data from the surveys.

Their objective is to identify partially-constructed spheres, which would emit additional infrared radiation.

However, identifying these structures is challenging, as various natural objects also emit excess infrared radiation, such as circumstellar dust rings, nebulae, and background galaxies.

And so they designed the pipeline in such a way that it can separate potential Dyson sphere candidates from natural sources by filtering out sources with unusual amounts of infrared radiation that can't be explained by known natural sources.

Even if we identify these things, hopefully we'll be smart enough to not jump to trying to contact these potential civilizations.

Ok so I'm no scientist. But if aliens are so advanced why don't they just make smaller suns and harvest those?

Like why is the first thought aliens put together materials that maybe comprise of a couple planets...instead of just making a smaller one if they are so advanced?

Also, we actually have afaik made a singularity (albeit brief in stability) so why wouldn't they rather harness that power source as that would be infinitely smaller physical framework?

Any answers even theoretical are appreciated. It always bothered me the full scale dyson sphere is a go-to.

The idea of a dyson sphere is actually more of a swarm of space stations that serounds a star.

Astronomers searched the skies for intelligent signals. Finally, a definitive repeating signal was found. Very large arrays sent a response aimed at the source with the message "So glad to hear you. We are on Earth and look forward to meeting you". The response came back "Stop transmitting. They will hear you."

Maybe the energy blasts could be used as a means to traverse space, like a space sidewalk

These are the 7 angels and 7 lampstands found in the Bible book of Revelation. God is very much real and we all need to get our lives in order. Repent and turn to Jesus while you still have time.

A solution to cold fusion on the base planet would seem more cost efficient than creation of a dyson sphere.

I have a wild speculation...dyson swarms could offer another way to conquer galaxies. A civilization that can build them goes to less advanced ones and offers to give them unlimited free energy if they just follow whatever they say. Since the tech doesn't reside on that planet it reduces chances of it being studied/stolen, so it ensures more control for a longer period of time without much if any resistance.

Radio is too slow for interstellar applications.

If two or more of these sources are adjacent to one another, within say 10 light years, that might be a strong confirmation of advanced civilization.

I find this highly unlikely just because of the temperatures even Starlite would break down in time. Dyson Spheres would have to be coated with these polymers and in some way applied to these structures.

Jesus is coming its not alien tech they are angels❤

All these scales will probably be obsolete because there is some unknown very efficient source of energy, like zero point per Tesla.

We dream it all up.reality exist in the human mind and nowhere else.

(Revelation 1:20) "The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches."

Is it a coincidence that only 7 of these objects were found in infrared? Remember there are hundreds of millions of stars and planets in our galaxy and only 7 of these?!

I never understood why a Dyson sphere would be necessary when panels in space can collect more than enough energy for our needs (think ISS). Shouldn't we be looking for unusually dim planets instead?

I want to see alien golden girls, the references would probably be the same to me.

0:07 I see that and I immediately think of the OG 1984 Dune which I recently watched on HBO Max lol
