Im at around 12 minutes and I have the same feel as Carlos about the fitness. Perhaps one can see the parameter as a kind of extreme adaptive goal or something. Like imagine bone density, but if there where no tradeoffs. Certainly this is a point that would come up if you sell this to biologists 😅

This is unnecessarily complicated as a restatement of a Complex Adaptive System that evolves through Agentic material. The telos of the system is the hidden state of meaning in the hidden Markov model, from the perspective of the interdependent Agentic material. Wolfram is to be applauded for rolling up his collaborator’s points of view with an aim towards broader understanding. But, and this is a big but, he is a fish swimming in the waters of his worldview, shaped by reductionist thinking. He is stuck in it for his metaphors that can apply cross-discipline.
