The clones weren’t as skill or talented, but they all have the potential to be.

This is a good example of "working hard beats relent when talent doesn't work hard."
If the clones had as much time as Jango to develope his skills and were equiped with armor just like his, they'd be unstoppable. But because the clones needed to grow quickly, they enhanced the genetics to make them develope faster, giving them less time to learn as much as Jango did.

Not just 6 Jedi with his hands. 6 of duku’s best students with one of their own light sabers.

This is true for all but one of the clones, as Boba's existence was Jango's payment for this, demanding no edits for faster growth and no biochip. As such, Boba was grown as an unaltered clone of Jango, to be raised as a son, not a soldier.

Jango: "I once killed six Jedi with my bare hands!"
Mace Windu: "Did you use your head tho?"

I take it Boba Fett was given genetic alterations to maintain a regular lifespan and be used for the empire

Star wars bounty hunter walks you through all the missions jango took on to take down the bando gora, and eventually killing Komari Vosa (the dark jedi) that count dooku wanted dead. And so dooku employed jango and gave him the reward of 50million credits and the pleasure of being the donor for the grand army of the Republic

Star Wars Bounty Hunter really goes in depth with dooku contacting jango and other bounty hunters looking for the perfect donor who would ultimately have to defeat dooku’s apprentice at the time, komari vosa.

You are missing a whole section of the story for Jango. Dooku hired Jango for a bounty hunting job to kill his ex apprentice Kamari Vosa. This competition/job was presented to many bounty hunters through the galaxy (how he met and partnered up with Zam from episode II). Ultimately Jango wins the rich reward from Dooku by killing Kamari Vosa who was equipped with 2 curved hilt crimson sabers. After accepting the reward, Jango was presented with an opportunity to become the genetic blueprint for the clone army. He accepted Dooku’s proposition on one condition, that he could have an unaltered clone of himself to raise as his son. Jango would then live on Kamino to oversee the production and to personally train the first generation of clone troopers. All of this story is canon and also can be seen in a play through of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
