Lee Smolin discusses the last mystery of cosmology.

In the 20th Century, quantum theory revolutionised how we think of small physics and general relativity revolutionised how we think of the big physics. But 100 years on, we still don't know how they fit together. Theoretical physicist and co-founder of Loop Quantum Gravity Lee Smolin leads us towards a unified physics.

#LeeSmolin #QuantumTheory #SpaceTime

Theoretical physicist known for proposing a reconciliation between loop quantum gravity and string theory. He is author of The Trouble With Physics and Time Reborn.

Is Lee's hairdo best described by waves, particles or fields ? 🤣

BTW...partial talk...goto another website to see the whole thing...but no...its just a little more and then they want money.

Lee. Doesn’t everyone’s point of view combine, averaging to manifest the universe we perceive?

Lee Smolin is one of my favorite thinkers.

The Perimeter Institute usually puts their lectures on their YT channel. But Lee Smolin's Perimeter lecture (Feb 20, 2021) is not there. Hopefully it will eventually turn up.

Physics is incredible 'cause i'ts the king of all science and knowledge

Time does not need humans, time flows independently and only human consciousness allows humans to register time. Time is fundamental to Universe, as fundamental as quarks or the strong nuclear force.

Sorry, I'm not an scholar, but time is present on matter, seems to me. Cause is in matter you can experiment decadence. Personally, I preferred Lavoisier... nothing is lost, all transform

"LAST MYSTERY" !!! ??? !!! .... really??? !!! I do respect Dr. Smolin but is a kind pretentios alleging to KNOW that this is the last one. I shall suggest a title edit to beeter fit science's precets.

If time isn’t real, we can rewind Prof. Smo, listen to him over again, maybe then we can understand what’s he trying to tell us. Whammy, that’s not the reality we live in. So listen “now” ; and listen good, or you will miss your chance.

Maybe time is not fundamental; maybe information is more fundamental and time is nothing more than a pile of information (in the present).
Maybe we are not spectators to the transition between indefinite and definite; we might be spectators to the transition between what might be in the future and what used to be in the past. And there is no nothing after indefinites flash into definites; the result is stored information. The past does not exist in quantum mechanics, but the past exists as preserved information, like a footprint in the sand.
Look at my paper Information, a New World Discovered, A Survey of Information using a Three-World Ontology on Academia. Based on the three worlds theory of Karl Popper

What a nonsense is included in the title... The last mystery of Cosmology??? Even the distances to stars and pattern of magnetic field science managed to get wrong, let alone nearly everything else in Theoretical Physics...

If, I, myself can be the only one to observe for myself that which is in and of spacetime, how then is time not always relative to said observation? In other words, what I observe now cannot be assumed to be the same thing I can observe at a different time regardless of any laws of nature or physics. The assertion that time is not a necessary part of existence is completely counter-intuitive to what is actually experienced. Divorcing science of consciousness is wrong even if it makes it less finite.

Either Einstein was wrong, or quantum mechanics is wrong. I don't see how they can be reconciled in any meaningful way that is valid. Since QM looks more like crazy philosophy than science (most of it like Many World's simply will never be verified or falsified) I lean towards Einstein being right and most of QM being rubbish.

It is like asking: You are sure that events happen only in the present ? Yes if the event can be measured in "zero" seconds.

particle or wave, a particle is certain, a wave is spiral, spirals mix well, particles just bump.
