I love the analysis of this, and it’s good that we know about the misrepresentations of the art form in film, I agree that they always make it seem like the strikes are weak, but still in the Ip Man series defense, the first movie was the reason I got into the art, and I’m sure I’m not alone.

I differ
Its not always possible to have a front to front directness...
that is why the dummy form DOES show side to side movement attacking the opponent from the blind side

U can attack the center line from different angles wetjer u are on the side of the opponent or directly at front
