It still hurts that there seems to be no room for shows like this on tv, it was a masterpiece in my opinion. It may sound strange but the constant threat of danger with no breathing room, combined with the tease of endless possibilities in terms of space travel really resonates with me on a deep level.

The concept of an ancient ship launched from Earth 50 million years in the past just cruising the entire universe to piece together the intelligent data of the CMB- to be boarded by Stargate once it traveled far enough- man the story possibilities were endless. The ship was still operational, flying faster than light in normal space, yet somehow avoiding relativity issues; SG-U was obviously a labor of love that can still be revisited today.

This series, born from SG1 & Atlantis, elevated Stargate to new and amazing heights .... it's potential was immense and its demise way, way too soon.

it's actually sad to watch, knowing that it was cancelled and had such potential. loved SGU. Rush and Young were my favourite characters based on their divisive interactions, relationship and ultimately their overall understanding of each in the end.

Even though it's not as good as SG 1 or Atlantis, this series actually had a lot of interesting aspects and creative stuff on there. There was some development and even though it doesn't have as much humor and it is darker and grittier, they have a reason to be, as the situation is a lot more dire, and it isn't just darker for the sake of being darker, like a lot of shows today.

this shows, and this idea for the show WAS SO AHEAD OF ITS TIME and it was INCREDIBLY AWESOME. it changed my mind as a kid thinking about space and alaienz <3 I'd love if someone would pick this project up again, this was absolutely amazing on so many levels. :(

I love the violin 🎻 in this starting scene, it holds a special place in my heart being a wonderful introduction of the Destiny, Destiny is probably my favourite ship in all of Stargate second being the Goa’uld Ha’tak mothership, I grew up watching Stargate and in my opinion it’s still one of the best sci-fi series ever, I’m sad Universe didn’t get a third season I had some ideas for how a season 3 could have gone
