Despite the outcry, the International Olympic Committee has defended their decision to allow the Algerian to compete.

This isn't a complex issue. Sex and gender are separate things. You can NEVER change your sex. Biological women should compete against women, and biological men should compete against men. Passports have nothing to do with it!

This is the dumbest issue I've ever seen. Chromosomes define sex/gender. Identity however you like but biology must qualify a person for athletic competition.

For the record, it is not true that Carini felt frustrated exclusively about losing. In the video of the match you can see her yell "Non è giusto" multiple times, which means "It's not fair". Regardless of what your take on the matter is, she sure did not feel she was fighting a woman.
