Here is a simple Excel trick on how to use Pivot Table slicers in a formula based report. Basically you get to connect your formulas to slicer buttons. We'll use a hidden Microsoft Excel Pivot Table to get the slicer functionality and connect the pivot table outcome to the Excel formulas.

This is exactly what I need, but in Google Sheets. Is it possible over there as well?

Thanks for another cool trick! I’m working on a project to recover sales tax for 134 utility companies. Another department created a dashboard and I update the tracker that feeds the dashboard. The tracker has a formula that provides a high and low range projection for each account then a column for what we’re actually receiving, if anything. Do you think this slicer trick is best used for a small number of items or characters per button? For example, I have 134 utility companies so that’s either 10 columns by 14 rows or 14 columns by 10 rows with empty cells either way. Some of the names are long because it’s like Teco Energy Natural Gas to separate it from Teco Energy Electric. It would be nice if the buttons were the same size but because the name length varies I’m not sure it would look good.

It's a nice short video and I want to practice it. Can you please share the detailed video along with the data table? Thanks.

Learnt this earlier. It is really cool. If you remove the slicer heading, you won't be able to get 2 or more information except using the Ctrl keys to add.
