That's a killer cooling setup that you have. 4.30 Ghz is a really good overclock, great job! I'll be getting the 3970x soon, but I'll probably go with an AIO and keep it stock. I'm too lazy to deal with custom water loops and the maintenance, haha. 😄

Thanks for the tutorial. I used it to get my 3960x to 4.3ghz keeping temps below 80 with a 420mm radiator. The only thing I'd argue against is when you said there's no way you can have a workload that would use all cores for a sustained period. I've currently got mine with all cores pegged running a 3Ds Max render that should take about 8 hours.

I can't get the 3600mhz ram to work... at least not 256gb of it but damn i got to 4.6ghz stable clock lol and only 1.360 but, i have a ridiculous amount of cooling.

Hi mate, I have the same setup as you, the Core Voltage in the BIOS is 1.425v (I didn't set that, it came like that - I havn't touched the BIOS), just wondering what it means?

Hello, I am using a ROG Ryujing 360 AIO for my 3960x. I am not shure if I am able to make an Overclock.
Should I change my cooling setup? I was thinking about the be quiet dark rock pro tr4.
Temperatures are:
42° idle
64° workload (4k games, premiere, blender, etc)
76° cinebench r20 / (3.9ghz all cores) 13460 score
91° aida stress test

That’s an average overclock. That said, there is no point in OCing these chips whatsoever. PBO and infinity fabric OC

Bleed the system of air when you do a build under H2O. 6:13 clearly shows air inside the (horrid looking) tubing from the bottom of the case to the GPU's.

And yeah that radiator is not sufficient for this type of load.
