Thank you! Finally parents teaching finances nice and early. So many people never learn and turn out to be irresponsible adults.

My parents had a different system and were expected to save something. When we started earning our own money, allowance was gone and still required to save some money. If we wanted to go out with friends, it was still on us. We were pretty hood and racked up a decent savings account. Back then a regular passbook account was 8% when banks and savings and loan were separate entities.
