Had to come back to revise my original comment.

This is the *best tutorial on SVMs* that I have ever come across (I have been through quite a few).

Really.

I was really facing lot of confusion understanding SVM but after watching this video I totally got the concept.Thank you Sir. :)

i think this is the best video lecture which is short in length and very effective to understand the difficulties of SVM..thanks a lot man...you are a life saver...

Thank you very much Mr. Thales Sehn Korting! The way you explained the Support Vector Machine algorithm is very simple and easy to understand.
My understanding of SVMs is crucial for my undergraduate thesis. I tried reading about SVM on several sites, but I did not understand much because I am new to the subject. Now I think I can read on it in-depth, because I at least understand the basics.  I'm glad I tried searching youtube. :)

PS: I am so mentioning you in my acknowledgements! :D

Not sure how you do it. But you’ve really distilled it down to something so simple and palatable for the brain to understand. Sweet

Excellent presentation. Brief, to the point and simple language to explain such complex topic. Thanks for your hard work prof.

The example is so illustrating and finally makes it clear what 'support vector' means. Thanks for sharing :-)

Sir you are the best.. Even a student with no knowledge of machine learning can understand this complex machine learning algorithm if he sees this video.

Though this is a bit high level, but still I would say that this is probably the most easily comprehensible material on SVM... many authors have tried and failed miserably... they can never make me understand even a bit of it... thanks for this

finally, finally someone explains with a real example. ty very much. i wish you also have an example for bag of words text classification

Thank you Sir,
Simple and straightforward
If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough
I think you understand it very well and you presented it in very simple way

Simple and clear to understand! This is way better than how my professor explained it!

He speaks slow but I love his accent. It has a calming, soothing effect.

Thanks for the presentation. One problem is that in the given example, the weight vector takes the same direction of the line connecting the two points of (1, 1) and (2, 3). This is OK if only these two points are to be separated. In case if there are more points, the method shown in this example does not work in general. For example, if another point (2, 0) (also shown in the example) belongs to the same set of (2, 3), then this method fails to separate the two sets.
