Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport a BETTER new SUV than a Land Cruiser?

FIRST LOOK: The 4Runner is getting a lot of attention from Toyota for 2025. On the outside of the TRD Sport you will notice special TRD wheels, painted fender flares, and hood coop. On the inside you will be greeted by soft-tex, 14in infotainment system and sunroof! Under the hood there is a 2.4L turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport a BETTER new SUV than a Land Cruiser?

I'm i proud owner of a 2024 4runner pro in the underground color, Toyota make a big mistake by putting a 4-cylinder turbo in that big rig. The 2026 Honda passport Trail sport will have a naturally aspirated v6 a much better bet for long term reliability.

The wheel fenders matching the body color looks much better than the gloss black fenders. Sport or not. Put some KO3’s on it and switch the rims. Not a fan of those style TRD’s. 5th Gen old school reliability 🤘

Land Cruiser for me - in the base model. Cheesy body styling on the 4R, LC much cleaner and nicer styling. More functionality in the LC ('24 or '25, pretty much the same in the LC).

Seems to me that everyone is complaining that its not a Highlander. 4Runner is loved because its everything you need and nothing you dont. All those extras are extra things to break.

If Toyota reads these comments, I don’t know why do you don’t make that hood scoop functional since now you are using a turbo and bringing cool air in to cool the turbo, I would go a long way to help keeping it cool. I mean how much trouble is there to punch a hole in the hood when it’s being stamped and then use some plastic for the duct work.
