I have been sewing for over 30 years. My mother bought me my own first sewing machine when I was 14. I have sewn everything from simple panel skirts and harem pants to a robe a la française. But tonight I made my first buttonhole, two actually, all because my daughter asked me to sew her a dress.

When I first made a button hole I didn't know mg machine had a setting for it so I just used a zigzag stitch. Its fine so long as I keep the button closed and don't look too closely at it.
