Afraid of Making Buttonholes? Try This Easy, No-Cut Method!

If you're hesitant about using a buttonhole attachment or aren't a fan of the traditional buttonhole look, this method is perfect for you! In this video, I demonstrate a simple technique to create buttonholes within a seam—no fabric cutting required!

What you'll learn:

- How to make buttonholes for the front of a shirt or blouse
- Two methods to create sturdy straps
- A neat opening for pillow, cushion, or quilt covers

Say goodbye to buttonhole anxiety and hello to a new, stress-free sewing technique!

Use a heat erasable ink pen to mark the buttonholes on your fabric
Use a point turner tool to push out the corners of strap ends.

This machine is pretty much the same as the Juki TL-2010Q but has a few more presser feet for quilting

This is absolutely brilliant. So much more tailored than the usual buttonholes. I’m in my 70s and I’ve never seen this method! I think I’ve watched every single video you’ve made! Thank you so much—from an Aussie living in the States.

I was just about to replace my sewing machine because it doesn't make buttonholes properly. I'm so glad I found this video. I am definitely going to make buttonholes this way now.

Excellent as usual. However, I'd really love to see a tutorial using the 'dreaded' buttonholes foot! 😂😅

Ok, I have to say, button holes are a lot easier but this technique is absolutely impressive and so professional looking! And bonus, the presentation could not be clearer and easier to follow. Thank you for this beautiful demonstration!

I saw one of those “quicky” versions of this (maybe 20 seconds worth) a couple months ago, no details but interesting result. THANK YOU for this tutorial!!! What a great way to do those dreaded buttonholes and incredibly polished results!!! I’m 72 and blouses were always frustrating since I’m a perfectionist lol. Now I can dive in and go for it! 😊

In all my 50+ years of sewing i never learned these alternative buttonhole methods. Thank you! Would sewing the traditional bar stitch over these types of holes be OK for reinforcing thicker fabrics like for coats? Or would it not look right or pucker the edges especially for lighter fabrics? Are these stronger? Super methods and look so nice! Already subscribed and notified...never miss your wonderful vids! 🤗

❤❤❤❤❤ You always have amazing ideas. I use the buttonhole presser foot easily, but it’s still nice to have alternatives for a cleaner look. Thanks for all the ideas you have posted. Each one is a gem!😊

❤❤ I can make all kind of buttonholes. By the time I get to the buttonholes I am dreading the process. This is a great alternative.
