my smart, kind, three year old cousin is suffering from encephalitis because she caught rotavirus. i’m very worried for her, and she has been in a medically induced coma for three days. when she got out of the coma, she can’t speak or eat. is this part of the recovery? will things work out for her? i can not live without her

My dad was diagnosed with Viral Encephalitis on March 5 2021, he had seizure and become unconscious for almost a day. Doctors prescribe the Zovirax(Acyclovir) 250mg I.V like 6 times a day for 3days (which should be 10days). Due to Covid and financial problems to buy meds we we're recommended to discharge from the hospital and gave us new prescription. My dad now is taking 400mg tablet of Acyclovir 5 times a day for 7 days (maybe for the continuation of the Vials to make it 10days) along with his other maintenance.
