“Secret Mistake #11: Not praying for a LL skip before each solve”
-J Perm 2021

thanks for the advice, I can definitely get better at a lot of this!!
Imma do a couple things
1) plan the execution of my cross in inspection, not just the solution
2) use more inspection
3) attempt not to default to the front right slot
4) pause to recognize case and auf--any angle
5) stick w my current PLL's as it dont matter all that much being only 18-19 average
6) improve fingertricks

but in terms of priority:
1) Fingertricks,
2) know execution, not just solution--cross
3) not default to front right
4) recognize auf and case b4 execution of both
5) use more inspection
6) stick w current algs for LL

Hearing you say it took 1:30 before getting cross down makes me feel so much better. Thanks for the great tips

Wow, I never even realized that double recognition was a thing, or that I was doing it so much. Thanks for giving me something new to improve on!

Thank you for giving me permission not to try to be doing look ahead! I’m a fully casual solver and was feeling bad that maybe I should be trying to look ahead, but I’m still just learning to trust how I solve F2L cases and being slot neutral.

My latest timed solve was 1:30, so when I say casual, I mean it. Haha

Hello J Perm, I just wanna say thank you a lot, you've helped me throughout these months, in cubing, my PB is 27.42, your amazing tutorials always helped me a lot and I'm grateful you make tutorials for us, you're an inspiration and I hope you continue and keep up the very great work, even though I haven't commented in a lot of videos, and even though I'm using a very cheap speedcube about 10$ (Qiyi Warrior) still I appreciate your work and yea good luck :)

How does your cubes look so nice and clean. Am I the only one noticing this?

solving front right F2L slot is my biggest problem. I will work on it! Thank you for the great video! Currently averaging around 17 seconds with full OLL and PLL.

Even as a Rouxer, this video was nice and constructive for me. Thank you so much! I think I'll start by inspecting without the timer until I can get a full first block during inspection. Then maybe I'll move to improving my CMLL recognition or my FB finger tricks.

From watching your channel, I’ve avoided most of these bad habits (thank you!). I’ll have to start working on double recognition now!

7:10 Good Grief? Did I miss an update? As a recent learner of full PLL, I used your 2017 video
Fast PLL Algorithms & Finger Tricks, which shows the same Jb alg but with two regrips. This video (same alg) shows such a smooth, buttery and easy regripless way, that I've been figuratively slapping my forehead for the past ten minutes at all the effort I could have saved.

A common mistake I always make is get into cubing and do it everyday then one day I just stop then after a while I come back and forget all the algs I learned before I stopped.

The RUR' grip tip is really going to help. Glad I didn't wait to long to re-adjust.

J Perm: You SHOULD be this J Perm
Me: Woah a whole new ALG to learn... *tries for 10 minutes* I'm never going to get this. I give up I'm just going to stick with my current ALG...
Me 20 seconds later: My ALG is the one he's recommending.... I just don't recognise it because my fingers know what to do and I haven't a clue!

Just learning what not to do. Just started doing CFOP and trying to improve. Looking to use these ideas and not fall into any bad habits.
